University of Cambridge
The University of Cambridge, situated in Cambridge, England, established in 1209, is the world's 4th …
The most historic international student destinations with a very high quality of education and massive opportunities post graduation.
There’s nothing not to like about UK, home to English-speaking-world’s oldest universities. For students from India, the United Kingdom have historically been two of the most popular study abroad destinations for a variety of fields and programs. Their education system maintains a very high academic standard. The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) regularly reviews programs offered by universities and ensures that the quality of education is maintained. International students are eligible for free medical treatment under the National Health Service (NHS) in return for a small international surcharge.
Overall, the UK has a very robust higher education system with excellent universities offering innovative programmes, and indulging in cutting edge research across diverse fields. This is one of the major reasons why such a large population of international students is seen there.
To help themselves financially, international students are also allowed to work part time (upto 20 hours per week) during their term time. The post study visa allows international graduates to stay and work in the UK for 2 years post completion of their programme. The UK boasts of a highly advanced job market in certain sectors, like London for finance and computing, and Woking for automobiles, which is famous for being the home of McLaren F1 team.
Another reason why students prefer the United Kingdom is because of their shorter duration of academic programs. Unlike in the USA, Canada and other international destinations, it takes 3 years to complete a bachelor degree and one year to complete a postgraduate (taught) degree in the UK (in most cases). Even outside your classroom, the UK gives you access to one of the most diverse cultures with a significant Indian population, with terrific scenic and historical tourist attractions to enjoy during your time completing your studies.
